Julian Brandt, the former head coach of German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, is widely regarded as one of the most successful coaches in football history. Born in Germany on October 12, 1945, Brandt began his coaching career at the age of 27 and has since become known for his ability to develop young talent and turn them into world-class players.

In 1986, Brandt took over as head coach of Borussia Dortmund, where he quickly established himself as one of the most successful coaches in European football history. He led the team to several major successes, including winning the Bundesliga title three times (1986-1988,Serie A Observation 1990-1992) and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League four times (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993).

Brandt's defensive philosophy was rooted in the belief that good defense is key to success in every game. He believed that a strong defense can prevent opponents from scoring goals and create opportunities for their attackers. He also emphasized the importance of physicality in the midfield, which allowed players like Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller to play with great intensity and energy.

One of Brandt's greatest achievements was the signing of two of the greatest defenders in history: Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller. Both players were born in West Germany but moved to Europe to pursue their dreams of playing professional football. Hummels was born in Hamburg and moved to Berlin when he was just seven years old, while Müller was born in Frankfurt and moved to Munich when he was only six years old.

Both players have had tremendous impact on Borussia Dortmund's success throughout their careers. Hummels played for Borussia Dortmund until 2005 and became the all-time leading scorer in the Bundesliga with 208 goals. Müller has been with the club ever since and has scored more than 300 goals for the team.

Brandt's defensive philosophy has been adopted by many other clubs and teams worldwide, and his influence continues to be felt today. His legacy as a great coach and defender will live on for generations to come.
