Leicester City and Jamie Vardy have been named as the two captains for England's national team for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
The decision was made by the Football Association (FA) on Thursday, with Leicester City chairman Ian Ayers and former striker Vardy selected to lead the national side at the tournament.
Ayers, who has been part of the club's management since 2011, will be the captain for the home Nations League matches leading up to the World Cup, while Vardy, who is currently playing for Aston Villa,Qatar Stars League Analysis will take charge of the senior squad.
Both men have strong connections to Leicester City and have played significant roles in the club's success over the years.
Vardy, who scored 79 goals in his 144 appearances for the Foxes, has been a key player for the club and helped them win the Premier League title in 2016 and the FA Cup in 2018.
Ayers, who took over as chairman in 2011, has led Leicester City to numerous successes, including winning the Premier League title three times and reaching the Champions League final in 2017.
The selection of these two players as captains comes after the FA announced that they would select two captains for each of the four teams in the World Cup group stages.
The FA hopes that having experienced and successful leaders will help guide the national team through the tournament and secure their place in history.
